SPINOS 2009
2nd Topical Meeting on Spins in Organic Semiconductors
Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
4-7 February 2009

We acknowledge financial support by the Los Alamos National Lab, Elsevier and Taylor and Francis publishers
Welcome to SPINOS 2009

On behalf of the organizing committee we have the pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2nd Topical Meeting on Spins in Organic Semiconductors (SPINOS 2009) to be held in Salt Lake City, Utah on 4-7 February 2009. The first meeting was held in Bologna, Italy in 2007.

This topical conference is concerned the scientific investigation of the behavior of electronic spins in organic semiconductors. Material systems of interest include π-conjugated polymer and small molecular devices as well as single molecule and carbon nanotube studies. Recent advances in the emerging fields of organic spintronics and magnetoelectronics call for a timely conference on this subject. In addition, the science of triplet states in organics, and the related topic of organic electrophosphorescence have seen many contributions from research groups around the world.
The event will provide great opportunity for physicists, device engineers and materials and physical chemists to meet and discuss ideas, solutions and future issues relating to the scientific study and technical implementation of organic semiconductor devices whose functionality is based on spins. The program is scheduled to provide room for open discussion and interaction.

Sincerely,

Art Epstein, Ohio State University
Darryl Smith, Los Alamos National Laboratory
Z. Valy Vardeny, University of Utah
Markus Wohlgenannt, University of Iowa
